KIDMIN

Bethlehem First UMC is a family of faith that seeks to partner with families in providing a spiritual foundation through Jesus Christ in the lives of children. We will teach them to use their Bible, worship, pray, give, nurture Godly friendships, serve, and share the good news of God’s love and grace.

BFUMC takes the safety and security of our children seriously. All volunteers working with children have participated in our Safe Sanctuary program. This includes training in the supervision of children, youth, and vulnerable adults; as well as training in the identification and reporting of abuse. All volunteers have been screened through a third party background check.

CALENDAR

When you arrive at church on Sunday morning, look for our KIDMIN CHECK-IN. Our volunteers will guide you.

On Sunday mornings, KidMin Nursery is available for children 6 weeks to 2 years old in Room 121. You may drop your nursery aged child(ren) off as early as 9:20am and pick them up there after service, no later than 12:30pm.

KidMin Preschool is available for children ages 3 to 4 years old. You may drop your preschool aged child(ren) off as early as 9:20am. They meet in Room 110, which is also where you will pick them up after service.

We feel that it is important for children to be introduced to “Big Church” early, but to have kid friendly and appropriate Bible lessons and activities. For that reason, we combine the best of both worlds for kids in PreK through 5th grade!

Kids start in worship with their families. At the Contemporary Service at 9:30am, Kids stay with their families in worship. Our KidMin Director and volunteers will lead the children out of service during the offering for age appropriate lessons and activities in Sunday School.

During the Traditional Service at 11am, Kids participate in the Call to Worship, hymns, Lord’s Prayer, Affirmation of Faith (Apostle’s Creed), Gloria Patri, and Doxology. Our KidMin Director and volunteers will lead the children out after they are dismissed for age appropriate lessons and activities in Sunday School. *If you have a 3rd grader or older and they would like to be an acolyte, please let Amber Wigley know and they will receive training and be added to the rotation.

After service, you will pick your kids up from KidMin Chapel (Room 113).

Kids in PreK through 5th grade are invited to Sunday Nights, where they will have creative, interactive Bible adventures from 5-6:30pm.
