Seeking a part time (10 hours/ week) Contemporary Worship Leader at Bethlehem First United Methodist Church. The mission of Bethlehem First UMC is to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. We do this, in part, by making worship a priority and nurturing Godly friendships. While musical proficiency is a prerequisite for the Contemporary Worship Leader position, BFUMC believes that strong relationships with volunteers and staff are the key to success in any church staff position, and therefore the contemporary worship leader should prioritize interpersonal skills. The Worship Leader will lead the congregation in worship at our Contemporary Worship service on Sundays at 9:30 am. This includes selecting music for the service, leading the Contemporary Worship Team in Sunday morning rehearsals, contributing strong vocal/ instrumental support at the service, and helping to provide a good flow between elements of the service. The worship leader will also oversee contracted guest musicians for the 9:30 service, use PlanningCenterOnline to post music, schedule rotation of musicians, recruit and train musicians and singers, and secure printed worship for the worship team. The worship leader will communicate regularly with the worship band, work closely with the Technical Director to ensure the unity of the Tech team and worship team, and work with the Technical Director, Worship Team Committee, and Senior Pastor in stage design and implementation.
